About Us

Dylan Trees is an innovative trio based in Los Angeles. Jeremy, Rob and Monica meld heart-breaking tunes with restless rhythms. It sounds both ancient and modern.

The band was formed when songwriter Jeremy Simon moved from his native London to California. Here he met Rob Fanter. They bonded over banjos, Bowie and booze. Versatile chanteuse Monica Olive joined the band soon after.

Dylan Trees released The Charlie Horse EP in late 2008 to enthusiastic reviews and a growing fan base. Produced by Charles Newman (Magnetic Fields), the EP is a righteous cacophony of classic British psych-folk with distinct undertones of Americana.

The band opened for Echo and The Bunnymen at SXSW 2009. In 2010, they were invited to contribute to Beat LA, a charity compilation of covers that is to include contributions from No Age and Crystal Antlers. Dylan Trees offered up a glacial reworking of Kathy Smith’s Topanga.

The upcoming full length release Victoryville is currently being finished up and is due for release later this year.
