Our latest slow tour of LA came to a close last week at the Echo Curio. This is what happened on the road:

Joxer Daly, February 6: there are hockey fans, and there are Dylan Trees fans. And now there are some hockey fans that are Dylan Trees fans.

Hotel Cafe, February 25: Surrender to the elegance. This is probably the best we’ve sounded. Testify.

Natural Stage Project, March 7: We were going to play in the Bronson Cave, but there were two bears in it (no joke). So we played just along the way, with the sun in our faces and the frogs by our side.

Echo Curio, March 10: We love the Curio. It’s our Cavern.

Next month we’re taking San Francisco. Get ready.

Q&A with Dylan Trees

WHO are you? Between one and six qualified professionals in the fields of science, musiq, magick and espionage.

WHAT have you been doing? All sorts of things. We’re making an album. The name of the album is called Nine Songs of the Sea. That’s what the name is called. The name really IS Haddock’s Eyes. But the ALBUM is called Ways and Means, which is only what it’s called. It actually IS Victoryville. To be furthered.

WHY are you making an album? Because what else are we going to do with our trombones and guitars and pianos and timpani and children and sea-sounds?

WHERE have you been playing? Apart from the studio, we played at Echo Curio which was curiously reverberant, and the launch party for the 4^th Deli LA mag at Best Fish Tacos in Los Feliz. A tour of taco stands isn’t out of the question. And we played a teeny tiny show at the Cinema Bar. And then we went to sleep.
